♻️ How Biofly Works

1. Trash Collection
We collect organic waste from slums and schools across Nairobi and transport it to our eco-greenhouse in Karen.

2. Nature at Work
At our facility, the organic waste is fed to Black Soldier Fly Larvae (BSFL).

Over a 14–21 day period, these amazing insects consume the waste and transform it.

3. Dual Output, Maximum Impact
  • 🌿 Organic Fertilizer
The waste is converted into a nutrient-rich fertilizer—perfect for farmers, gardeners, and anyone seeking high-quality soil enrichment.
  • 🐛 High-Protein Larvae
The mature BSFL are packed with up to 50% crude protein—higher than soybean meal, fishmeal, and maize bran, making them ideal for animal feed.
4. Sustainable Cycle
We retain 20% of the larvae population, allowing them to mature into flies.

Each fly lays up to 10,000 eggs, ensuring the cycle restarts naturally and sustainably.
